Home About Us. Headquarters of ICAR-CMFRI at Kochi, Kerala, India. The ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute was established by Government of India on February 3rd 1947 under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and later it joined the ICAR family in 1967.
CMFRI is a government-funded organization that conducts research, management and development of marine fisheries resources and habitats in India. It provides data, policy guidance, mariculture, conservation and training services to various stakeholders and has a network of regional centres and stations across the country.
