When I got the meshpod installed to get uniform coverage across the house, connection drops started happening. It is so bad that I just disconnected it and am going to return it.

Just connect Airtel router's LAN port to your router's WAN port and configure your router as having a static IP connection. Assign a static IP to your router in Airtel router's interface.

But if I am on the WiFi and try to access via http(s)://<Static IP> then it does not work (connection times out). I have changed the LAN DNS to a pihole instance and WAN DNS to googledns by the way. Before and after behaviour is the same about above.

Aug 6, 2013 · That airtel is doing this means the dongle is a waste and is only good for airtels network. If they are going to lock it like this i'd expect the price to be a lot lower 50% of an open dongle. Its a multi-mode dongle which means it automatically switches between 2/3 or 4G.
May 31, 2024 · Aug 18, 2024. #20. So, finally I figured out, Airtel static IP scheme is indeed a scam. But only for certain people, who have been provided routers that don't even support static IP! I was one of those. Obviously I couldn't find any option for static IP in my router configuration.
