Oscar Jack Piastri (born 6 April 2001) is an Australian racing driver, currently competing in Formula One for McLaren. Piastri has won two Formula One Grands Prix across two seasons. Born and raised in Melbourne, Piastri began his career in radio-controlled racing before moving into karting aged nine.
Out-and-out racer, driving for the multi world championship-winning McLaren Formula 1 Team. Winner of three consecutive championships: 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup Championship, 2020 FIA F3 Championship and 2021 FIA F2 Championship. Proud Melburnian and just the 15th Australian to have ever started an F1 Grand Prix.
Piastri did not simply climb the junior single-seater ladder, he charged up it to knock loudly on the F1 door. So impressive was Piastri that two F1 teams squabbled over his services for 2023, adding a new dimension to the driver market and so-called ‘silly season’.
