The movie, however, is not glorifying him in the slightest. The scene you need to focus on is the shipwreck scene. Belfort actively ignored the warnings, put his "loved ones" at risk for the sake of a buck, forced Robbie's character to miss her family's funeral, and had Hill's character fetch drugs from a flooding cabin.

Oct 19, 2015 · Wall Street is one of my all time favorite movies. It's more serious than Wolf of Wall st., but it's THE classic business/wall st. movie. Boiler Room is a sort of revamp of the themes in Wall St. they even show the guys in it acting out a scene from the movie. Overall pretty fun to watch and full of dumb comedic wall st stuff.

Real-life Jordan Belfort is a complete piece of shit, in my opinion. But the movie version of Jordan Belfort is a little more nuanced. The movie seems to revere his achievements in a way. Paints him as a Robin Hood, scamming the rich to uplift ordinary working folk. And even his divorce with Naomi paints Naomi as a gold digger.
Jan 24, 2021 · The real life production of the movie is almost worth a movie in itself. The money to produce the movie was stolen from a sovereign Malaysian fund by a 30 something con artist. The guy whose life the movie was based on said that a party with the producers was so over the top he could tell it was stolen money.
