The front seats are of slightly different shape. All other rows are almost identical to the 2010 Fortuner. With 2021 , Toyota tweaked suspension as many buyers complained about stiff ride. While the pre facelift was stable at higher speeds, was jittery while driving through undulations.

But some glaring omissions or cons for a car that costs almost half a crore are. 1. Very cheap plastics at some places, like at bottom of center console, buttons. 2.
The facelift Fortuner has shorter battery life. My cars battery went dead exactly at 3 year mark. Your service cost is slightly higher, TGloss AC duct/mech care should have been avoided. I also assume 0W20 oil was used which is expensive compared to 5W30.

I bought a new 2021 Fortuner 4x4 automatic diesel on April 14, 2021. I have already got my first service (1,000 km) done at IJM Motors, Ludhiana, Punjab.
If you are going for Fortuner, I personally would recommend 4x4 model, not for its off-road performance but because of its sound system and couple other features which are not present in 4x2 model. JBL system while not worth the extra 2-3 lakh on its own, it's miles ahead of system in 4x2 and would help in-cabin feel.
Fortuner is heavy car and if you are stuck, 4x4 gear comes in handy. 4x2 on other hand feels bit more sprightly and fuel efficient. The ride is also bit more supple. The 4x4 gear also let you explore and go that extra mile incase you travel to new destination. (6) Thanks.
