Jun 18, 2018 · Microsoft has now removed Get classic Skype option from the get-skype link when this link is accessed from Windows 7/8 computers. The Get classic Skype option is still available from Windows 10 computers. If you want to install the latest 7.41.0.101 classic Skype version on a Windows 7/8 computer, then you can do this by using this link:
Mar 21, 2018 · Unfortunately, the download page to which the link sends us has absolutely no instructions for getting 7.41. It simply tells me that if I have Windows 10 I already have the latest version. This message from Skype/Microsoft was utterly useless. Click on Get Skype and select Get Classic Skype.
Oct 4, 2017 · Skype will still nag you to update it periodically, but it won't every actually do it unless you allow it to. This is a pain in the you know what, but it is better than having nonfunctional software. All previous versions of Skype have been removed from the Internet. We're stuck with new Skype which doesn't work on computers like classic Skype did.

Nov 18, 2017 · I see one can download the Classic Skype version (7.59.37) from the download page. That version however only runs on OS X 10.10 or higher.
Jul 19, 2018 · Skype is being rebuilt from the ground up and this is to ensure features are cross platform (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android) and are truly in sync when launched. As you might know, engineering resources are always limited; especially to maintain two platforms. Microsoft's future is beyond win32 which classic Skype is built on.
