The two words are mainly written by traders, business men, shopkeepers etc on account books and in front of the shops. Some Hindu cultures consider Shubh and Labh as the sons of Ganesha.

If this is not the reason then I can guess for just one thing, ie, Ganesh Ji symbolizes 'Shubh' and Hanuman Ji symbolizes 'Mangal', so together they symbolize as' Shubh and Mangal' for the people who visit the temple or in other words, where there is Shiva, there will be 'Shubh' and 'Mangal'.
