  1. Oct 9, 2023 · Hey, Hope you're all doing well! I'm currently exploring opportunities for online work and came across Rev, a platform for transcription and captioning. I've heard mixed reviews about it, with some mentioning low pay and strict guidelines. Before diving in, I'd love to hear from those who have recent experience with Rev in 2023.

  2. Aug 24, 2022 · Rev - Tips & Pros and Cons. Hello! I have worked on and off for Rev since late 2019. I see a lot of posts, mostly negative, about Rev. I thought I'd talk about it a bit. My experience is primarily in captioning but many of these points can apply to transcription as well. Summarized version at the bottom/TL;DR. Deactivation.

  3. Mar 7, 2023 · rev is not worth it! terrible money and awful software. i think most of the online anyone-can-sign-up transcription websites are not good pay, but i did work for 3play media for a year during covid and it was slightly better, and their software was a lot easier to work with than rev. it’s still not great money when you realize you have to pay taxes on your income though. it worked in a pinch but i wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as a lucrative path.

  4. Please stop working for Rev. I see so many posts about working for Rev. I was in Revver Plus for five years and was making about $250 a week. I had no transcription experience prior to Rev, but I had a talent for it, and got better and faster quickly. I got way too comfortable with Rev’s platform, with their proprietary software and my list ...

  5. Long-term veterans there with a ton of experience can make as much as $1,000/week in Transcription. LOL. Most of Rev's jobs pay 45-50 cents per audio minute. That means you'd have to transcribe at least 2,000 audio minutes a week or nearly 300 audio minutes a day. That's absolutely impossible.

  6. Mazbt. • 6 yr. ago. As far as easy to apply, low paying transcription sites I think Rev is probably the best one out there. Their editor is probably their best feature imo. Google transcription essentials and register so you can see the forum.

  7. Oct 8, 2015 · I will say that the transcriptions are extremely varied. The poor quality jobs tend to pay more to compensate for a lot of the rewinding and uncertainty you may have while listening, sometimes $1 per minute of audio. Typically, the jobs pay between $.50 and $.75 a minute, and the quality can still be real shitty sometimes.

  8. Jun 23, 2021 · People who complain about it are the ones who washed out and couldn't hack it. Whether it's worth it or not depends on whether you can learn the rules and do well or not, and whether you can learn how to do it quickly and well. Good caption Revvers make $200, $300, or more per week. Reply reply.

  9. Jun 15, 2021 · When you become a revver+ the work becomes easier because revver+ get to claim projects 90mins before revvers, hence, getting the easier and higher paying projects. If you can perservere through the rookie and revver levels then you will be good. Good luck! 1. Reply.

  10. Jun 15, 2023 · There was a writing sample, then a message say “You’re in!”. Something like that. Haven’t heard from them since. The first “project” is the test I am pretty sure. It’s a tutorial that walks you through everything. Plus for the first while, your work will be reviewed by another person.
