  9. The payment of Wages Act, 1936 is an important piece of legislation which regulates the payment of wages to employees in the industrial and other establishments, who are in respect of wages with average upto Rs.1600/- per month.

  10. (5) Employers must pay the wages promptly, in establishments with less than 1,000 workers, wages must be paid before the seventh day of the month; and in larger establishments, wages must paid before the tenth day of the month after the wage period.
