Switching to the reading view in Word Online should improve the situation, but the basic limitation remains: Word Online simply doesn't have the capabilities of the full, desktop version of Word that you can install on a PC or Mac. I can't seem to find an option for adding a blank page in the online version of word. Is it only included in office 365? If so, I would suggest adding it to the online version as it is essential.
