Aug 26, 2023 · It's a poor suggestion vs the RTX 3060 for your use case scenario. Yes, the 3060 Ti is quite a bit more powerful than the vanilla 3060 (~25-30% increase), but the non-Ti variant having 50% more VRAM is going to be far more beneficial for machine-learning purposes. If your choices are exclusively the 4060 8GB or the 3060 12GB, go with the 3060.
Mar 11, 2022 · So the 3060 won't be an especially fast card, but it'll still probably be faster than applying memory tricks like checkpointing on a faster card with less VRAM. I used a 3060 for the first year of my PhD, it worked fine (can't compare with anything else though since I never used others). The ram was nice.

Jul 1, 2023 · 4060 is a 4050, the 3060 is more powerful and cheaper, check it out. The real trade-off here is more VRAM vs. a little more raw performance and DLSS 3. Both are beneficial in their own way. The drop from 12 to 8GB is not insignificant. I regularly go over 8GB VRAM usage maxed out at 1440p.

Even without DLSS 3, the 4060 (non-ti) benchmarks 20-ish% higher than the 3060. And in DLSS 3, and it's huge. And yeah, the lower amount of VRAM might come into play at some point, but that's probably quite a way into the future. RDR2 eats about 4.5-5 Gb at best on 1080p with max sliders, fyi.
Dec 23, 2022 · The 2080 is the faster card by quite a wide margin. A 3060 would be a downgrade. Too vague to answer at all. You didn't mention resolution, settings, or anything. Either way, the 3060 is not a good card really. You have a 2080. It's a better card and can do RT rather well. Forget a 3060.

I'm using an i5-13400f processor and an Asrock B660m pro rs motherboard. This motherboard has two PCI Express (PCIe) x16 slots: the first one is PCIe 4.0 x16, and the second one is PCIe 3.0 x16, which supports x4 mode.
Sep 6, 2021 · My 3060 while playing games like cyberpunk hits around 74/75c at auto fan speed, if i use max fan speed its between 69/71c. I have the 3060 130w and the max i get is 79c after playing warzone for like 4 hours. Mine stays under 75c at all times. Got a Dell G15 laptop with RTX 3060 at factory settings.
