Aug 31, 2019 · Can confirm. Talking to my friends in discord and they can hear me clearly. Listening to the playback in windows I sound fine. In game I don't make a single sound. I even switched mics, it worked for a few games then stopped again. For a game that literally requires microphones their mic support is absolute dog shit.

Double-click the default microphone. Click the "Listen" tab. Tick "Listen to this device". Select your speakers or headphones from the "Playback through this device" dropdown.

Dec 5, 2020 · Control panel --> hardware and sound --> sound --> recording tab. Select your microphone and click properties --> listen tab. Make sure playback through this device is set to Default Playback Device. Then in discord make sure in your Voice & Video settings you have your input set to Default. This took care of the problem for me.
They literally say they hear themselves in the mic test but not in server voice chats. That is intended behavior and if someone wants to hear themselves, they should use an additional software to route their mic and headphone audio through to mix them together before the audio enters the headphones for them to hear
No need to create an account, just type in a random name and press "skip setup". Connect to one of the voice channels. Launch your Discord app and connect to the same voice channel. Now you are in a voicechat with yourself. Talking through your app will produce sound in your browser, which should give you a decent idea of how other people hear you.
