Jun 15, 2022 · Basically, you can use mtkclient to unlock your bootloader, instead of going through all of the hassle involved with the mi_unlock tool! I have tested this on my global redmi 9c, running the latest MIUI. I tested this on Linux, but the same should apply running it from Windows. You can follow the directions here:
Aug 26, 2017 · This is the tool's latest version as of 28 August, 2017. 1. Extract the zipped archive of MI Unlock tool to a new folder in the root of your system drive, like C:\any_folder. I extracted it to C:\unlock, making the path of the tool's executable: "C:\unlock\miflash_unlock.exe".

Apr 17, 2022 · Since the unlock tool seemed store my old verified account (no sms OTP neede,d unlike the other one), I tried to unlock it, hoping would be greeted by 168 hours again. This time, it didn't, and it went straight to unlock without any issue. There you go. Another weird thing from xiaomi unlock.

Aug 2, 2017 · I launched the unlock tool (updated it as required). Then, put my phone in bootloader mode and connected it prior to selecting "agree" to the terms and condition. Took 27 hours for the approval and have an unlocked Xiaomi 12 Pro now.-- OH- also, in the unlock zip file there are USB and driver files you need to .exe prior to running unlock.exe.
Feb 23, 2022 · It seems to me that a captcha dialog is missing from later versions, blocking SMS send. At this point, I closed version 4.5, used "adb reboot bootloader" command to put the phone into bootloader mode (prematurely, it turned out). I then launched Unlock version 6.5.406.31. No SMS check was required.
