The Airport will have a runway length of 3,050m initially in Phase one. The orientation of the runway is 07/25, which permits obstacle free approach.

This will finally end Go First's monopoly on the Dubai route. Been hearing chatter for the following new flights expected this year in Winter Schedule.

The proposal had got off the drawing board in September last year with the Federal Civil Aviation Minister, Praful Patel, agreeing to waive the condition on a minimum two runways in view of land scarcity in the state.
