Jun 28, 2018 · This Avast program frequently got caught doing sneaky stuff on my system ( by Advanced System Care and by my new Eset Smart Security software) Eset was denied access to the Avast program but was able to warn me that Avast was doing risky things on my system.

If you still have problems after using the companies own tool, then there are certain commonly used programs that you may find useful. All these programs are outside of Dell's control and are used at your own risk.

Just to let you guys know...my laptop came with Norton Antivirus but it expired about a year ago. for a while i was able to run the update but not anymore. then i installed another form of norton scan. Someone also recommended another program called windows defender. So to sum it all up...i have 3 AV programs.

Oct 24, 2013 · After backing up avast's settings (as explained in the first paragraph), I'd uninstall avast via the Control Panel. It will probably tell you that a reboot is required to complete the process. Since you mentioned you're on a Win 8 system, Defender should AUTOMATICALLY turn itself on when it "realizes" avast has been removed.

Mar 31, 2022 · Thanx Adrian, I was going to try that but I have installed a McAfee antivirus so when I tried to uninstall the old one, there is only one in the list of programs. And it is the one I installed last year. None other shows up, at least as McAfee.
