How Horizon Forbidden West scales its textures varies on a per-scene basis (the video above explains all but ultimately, medium can be fine for some views, but less fine for others.

I literally can't even see the difference in graphics between the 30 and 60 modes on a big 4K OLED, the only difference is the 30 mode looks like a slideshow in comparison. Choosing anything other than performance is wild. Even better if you have a 120hz VRR display as the game runs at 70-80fps.
Sep 3, 2022 · I think that Horizon Forbidden West is a great game, and I think that there are moments where the combat really clicks. When I'm fighting a single large beast, exploiting its weaknesses to take it down while dipping and dodging between it's attacks, the game can be a lot of fun.

Thankfully HFW let's you turn nearly everything off. Control prompts that you memorized 10 hours ago, useless inventory notifications for generic items, the compass, so on and so forth.
Jun 1, 2022 · Horizon Zero Dawn was a better Game in 2017, than Forbidden West is in 2022. Don't know if that makes sense. Between the two though there is no contest, Forbidden West is better in every regard, minus Story perhaps.
Mar 19, 2024 · Sounds more involved than the first game. Multiverse Moo said: Not a specific armor, but there is a mechanic in Forbidden West called "Valor Surges" and one of those is similar to that. There are also some that let you go invisible temporarily, or charge up throwables / arrows / etc.

Noticing something weird where this doesn't max out my GPU usage; it only seems to go up to 90% according to MSI Afterburner, even though fps is not hitting refresh rate target.
