What you can do is set the DuckDuckGo website as the startup page for your browser so each time that you will open your browser, it will open DuckDuckGo right away. If you are using Edge, follow the steps below.
Click the Search engine used in the address bar dropdown; you should now see DuckDuckGo; select it. If you'd also like to use DuckDuckGo instead of Bing on the New Tab Page, click on the Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar dropdown and select Address bar. Close the Settings page and test your new defaults.

You can also specify that when you search from the New Tab Page, you want to get results from DDG. The page that opens when you open Edge is specified at ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings > On start-up. Feb 11, 2020 · In Windows 8.1 in Microsoft Edge Browser, I have successfully changed my default search engine from MS Bing to DuckDuckGo. However whenever I open up the Browser, it always opens to MS Bing search engine first, and I must click on the little house (home) to the left of the search bar in order to go to the DuckDuckGo default search engine.
Oct 22, 2024 · I use DuckDuckGo as my primary/default browser and homepage, and a Yahoo e-mail account through Mozilla Thunderbird, and since the latest (unannounced, unavoidable) update, when I click on a link in an e-mail, it half-opens a 2nd DDG window, but does not go to the linked site.
I would like to have DuckDuckGo to open as default when I open the new tab, but I can't find a way to do it. Is MS trying to limit access to other search engin
