Oct 18, 2015 · English: This is an official emblem of the University of Delhi with "Elephant, Book and Lotus" with the inscription "निष्ठा धृति: सत्यम्" in Sanskrit. The emblem was conceived by Pt. Lachmi Dhar Kalla (1891–1953), Founder Head of the then Department of Oriental Languages of university.
Delhi University (DU, ISO: Dillī Viśvavidyālaya), formally [citation needed] the University of Delhi, is a collegiate research central university located in Delhi, India. It was founded in 1922 by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly and is recognized as an Institute of Eminence (IoE) by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
