Apr 11, 2023 · Netflix Death Note movie was so damn good! Analysis. Just rewatched it and man, it’s such a good movie. Like a majority of you, I overall disliked it my first time watching it, or the second time. We love the manga/anime so much, it’s nearly perfect and it’s an insult to Americanize it and give us an hour and 40 minutes.

execs dont know shit about anything, they just want money. so if they have to make the movie worse to appeal to a larger audience, they will. same goes for cutting costs and whatnot. every movie production is a constant battle between the creators (directors, writers, etc) trying to make a movie and the executives and producers trying to make as much money as possible spending the tiniest ammount they can afford
Aug 25, 2017 · The movie did an awful job with his character. They barely touched on his intelligence. Changing some of the rules of the death note wasn't a good idea either. His girlfriend should've been able to see ryuk after she touched the death note. Ugh. This whole movie would've been way better if the characters were more fleshed out over a season or 2.

Jul 30, 2021 · L in the source material wasnt 100% Japanese. He was Japanese and British (I believe it was). Him being black makes no difference and is actually kind of fitting for the character in that regard (diverse background). Even if they wanted to use the Japanese live action actor, it wouldnt fit. Would feel too forced.

It’s a typical teen slasher using the Death Note as a hook to get people to watch it. The characters are all wrong in every way possible, there’s nothing intelligent about them, everyone’s stupid and the only interesting character is Ryuk and he’s even changed into a manipulative bastard instead of the Shinigami just along for the lols.
