Sometimes only 2 times, sometimes 5 times, sometimes the entire car ride the rest of the way. To me, Cruel Summer is already a top 4 Taylor Swift song to me.

Jun 25, 2020 · The phrase “Cruel Summer” in itself I’ve seen a lot of internet Swifties say this is specifically summer 2016 bc of the Kim Kanye crap. I definitely agree it’s about Taylor’s summer 2016 BUT I love how Taylor makes things so relatable so I think it also is about the summer fling itself being “cruel” in general.
The word on the street is that it was planned to be released at the launch of Loverfest so it would have been the sound of 2020. Instead we got Covid and Folklore. The fact there's no music video is wild. The only person that didn’t know cruel summer would be a smash hit was Taylor apparently 🥰.
