I thought it was only a mac problem but now i have it also on windows: When i am working (often when right clicking or moving drag-dropping somenthing) Remote Desktop freezes for really long time (sometimes 20-30 seconds) and i always have to close it and open it again.
BUT, the Remote Access option requires the remote use to be signed in to the same account and does not support sharing a remote Chromebook, so does not fit your use case. ("Remote Access" is designed to allow access to "my account" on a remote computer.
Aug 22, 2022 · What did work was when I went to control panel - Device Manager - Display adapters then Right Clicked and selected 'Disable Device' for my display adapter. This allowed me to use Chrome Remote Desktop with the lid closed. I have a Dell Latitude 5520. Wow! I can confirm this works like magic.

It uses a video feed instead of sending bitmaps or images, and includes other optimizations to make the experience much better than RDP in most instances.
