Dec 16, 2011 · I should therefore be able to get that symbol by pressing SHIFT+the number 3 key. Instead of getting the symbol which I need I instead get the symbol for the British Pound currency. I need the symbol for number which is shown on the key for the numerical "3". The place to look would be in the Control Panel's Regional and Language options.

Oct 16, 2011 · Many thanks DP-K but on the pavilion keyboard there is no right hand numeral keys and that used to work on my former Microsoft keyboard when the 'pound' sign was not displayed.Have tried the Alt 156 but that doesn't work on my keyboard but thanks for the quick reply..much appreciated...
Jul 8, 2013 · If you are using the UK Keyboard, press SHIFT+3. If you are using the US Keyboard, with NumLock on, hold down the ALT key and type 156 on the Keypad. Jan 21, 2014 · whenever you want to use the uk stuff, just tap WINKEY+SPACE and it switches languages. Then press shift+3 to get the pound symbol and hit winkey+space to go back to US keyboard. May 16, 2016 · Hi, Your computer is likely setup for multiple keyboard layouts and a hotkey has been inadvertently pressed to switch between layouts. To fix this concern: Open the Control Panel. go to the Region and Language applet. From the Keyboards and Languages tab click Change keyboards.

Aug 12, 2023 · Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language > Under "Preferred Languages" select English (United Kingdom) > Options > Under "Keyboards", select Add a keyboard > Select United Kingdom.
