- About Us
Our College is part of the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto. It was founded in 1974. It has a large and diverse student body and offers a variety of programs and provides exceptional student supports.
Woodsworth College is a constituent college of the University of Toronto in Canada. It is one of the largest colleges in the Faculty of Arts and Science at the St. George Campus. It is also the newest of the colleges at the University of Toronto, created in 1974.
- Academic Bridging Program. Our Academic Bridging Program provides a pathway to admission for students who would not typically qualify for direct admission to the Faculty of Arts & Science.
- Digital Humanities. Our new Minor Program in Digital Humanities prepares students for future paths that range from graduate studies in literature, history, library science, education or computer science, to careers as technical writers, data analysts and visualizers, project managers, or programmers.
- Diploma to Degree Program. Our Diploma to Degree Program is a college-to-university transfer program that offers a pathway to university studies for students enrolled at one of our partner institutions.
- Summer Abroad. Our Summer Abroad programs are designed to enrich students’ academic lives by providing an exciting and educational international experience.
- Innis College. Population: 2,100. History: Founded in 1964, Innis is one of the newer colleges. The only college to be named after a professor at the University of Toronto, political economist Harold Innis, Innis College has had three different homes on campus.
- New College. Population: 6,300. History: Founded in 1962, New College is one of the youngest colleges at the University of Toronto, with its name evolving from the originally proposed “New King’s College.”
- St. Michael’s College. Population: 5,300. History: St. Michael’s College was founded in 1852 at the request of the second Catholic bishop of Toronto, Monsignor Armand Compte de Charbonnel.
- Trinity College. Population: 2,100. History: Founded in 1851, Trinity College is a small, distinctive college at the heart of the University of Toronto. Trinity, which began as its own university, federated with the University of Toronto in 1904 and moved to its current campus location in 1925.
Woodsworth College was founded on January 1, 1974, established “primarily for part-time students who were taking courses for academic credit” (Friedland, The University of Toronto: A History, 571).
