Guided tours with trained tour guides can be booked for groups of up to 20 visitors. Please make sure to book tours no less than four weeks in advance as we cannot guarantee that our guides will be available at short notice. We also offer bespoke tours tailored to your requirements.
The University Church has a rich and intriguing history. From its beginnings over a thousand years ago, St Mary's has witnessed the foundation of the University of Oxford and some of the most significant events in English church history.
Church Opening Times Monday – Saturday 9.30am – 5.00pm (*Last admission to the Tower is 4.30pm, though it may close earlier depending on queue levels). 6pm in July & August.

9.00 am Morning Prayer. Morning Prayer is a service of prayer and praise to begin the day. Using the Church of England’s pattern of Daily Prayer, the service takes place in the Chancel at 9.00 am each weekday morning (Monday-Friday).
The Church offers a stunning setting, resonant acoustics and a central location. We host a variety of choral, orchestral and other concerts throughout the year, featuring Oxford's finest instrumentalists, international ensembles, and up and coming student musicians.
