Jul 6, 2023 · Malvern College Hong Kong's first cohort of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students achieved outstanding results. An impressive 50% scored 40 points or higher, with highest individual score of 44 points out of 45. The overall average score was 39.4 points, well above the world average of 30.24 points.
Just to share my fact findings. According to Malvern UK website, in 2015 there were 7 offers from Oxbridge out of 119 applications made to the UK universities (Harrow HK had 7 confimed places with Oxbridge out of 49 students in the cohort of year 13 in 2016). Also Malvern UK achieved 70% A*-B at 2016 A levels ( Harrow HK 89.9%).

Students at Malvern College are celebrating this morning following a bumper set of A-Level results, with a better set of grades than those achieved in 2019 (the school's last pre-pandemic set of results). Eight per cent of grades were at A* compared to five per cent in 2019. 28 per cent of grades were A*- A compared to 29 per cent in 2019.
Whilst it may be easier for Malvern pre-school student to get into ESF or other schools and college. The school fees Malvern College fee for primary is around HK$200,000pa (fee plus capital levy), whilst ESF looking aorund HK$120,000pa (school fee + once off capital levy) hence I think a big difference over the long term.
