Feb 2, 2022 · 1) York's uni is closer to the city than Lancaster. This is true. Both accessible by bus from campus, but York has the edge by a few mins on the bus. 2) York's got more clubbing scene than Lancaster . This is also true, although Lancaster still has 3 clubs and copious amount of bars.
Feb 6, 2024 · Lancaster is a great uni. It stays around 10th/11th in the complete uni guide, and the reason its not higher is because their grade bounderies are lower. But their student satisfaction is higher than others. Its also got good research quality. Its not a russell group, but does hold its own in terms of research.

Lancaster University is located approximately 3 miles south of Lancaster City Centre. There are regular buses and a walking/cycle path that will take you directly from campus into the city. The City of Lancaster is around 70 miles from Manchester’s International Airport.
Also, don't look at rankings, Exeter is better than Lancaster. Plus, Lancaster as in the actual city and uni is a bit, small, middle of nowhere, boring etc; but that's my opinion. Exeter is more my uni than Lancaster though so do some research on what the actual unis are like as well. Reply 5. 14 years ago.
Jun 5, 2024 · Theres 12 in the townhouse, and 4 on each floor and each floor has two bathrooms. Stereotypically, they say Grizedale is the 'party' college, but in her year, County college gave them a run for their money lol (2020-2021year). I wouldnt say theres an unsociable college.
Mar 26, 2022 · When picking a college there are probably two main things you want to consider: 1. Type of accommodation. Some colleges only offer certain types of accommodation, for example, Lonsdale and Cartmel are exclusively ensuite. So whichever accommodation you would prefer/is within your budgeting range will limit your choices.
Jun 1, 2023 · It seems that Bowland Hall and County’s John Creed building offer the cheapest en-suite accommodation on campus currently. “Rooms in Bowland Hall cost between £153.37 and £177.59 per week depending on the facilities provided (those priced higher offer a wider "3/4 size" bed and soft seating in the kitchen/diner).
