The difference between porn and smut: Porn: Usually has very little plot line and is extremely sexually explicit. Mostly watched or 'read' for the pictures. Aimed towards men.
Smut is generally anything that features an actual depiction of sex scenes (e.g. instead of being implied in the background), but commonly fully censored for non-hentai publishing and let's just say not the main thing like in hentai which is exclusively about the banging.

Jul 28, 2022 · Lemon is an older term for smut from the early 2000's smut is a newer term from around 2012 ish. There isn't any. Lemon is just an older term that was used to bypass strict censoring systems on other websites. They're the same thing. Lemon stemmed from the hentai community.

I’ve noticed that on this sub, people will call something “smutty” when the scenes are more descriptive, regardless of things like kink.

Late elementary/early middle school: The Song of the Lioness quartet by Tamora Pierce. I can't remember which book has the sex in it, but I think it was the second. I was a huge fan of her work until the Protector of the Small series, because I thought the protagonist in that one was too much of a Mary Sue.
