Prized for its winter floral display, award-winner Jasminum nudiflorum (Winter Jasmine) is a medium-sized deciduous shrub with long, arching branches. Its slender willowy green stems stand out in late winter or early spring when clothed with masses of bright yellow flowers, 1 in. across (2.5 cm).
Winter jasmine is a sprawling, deciduous, perennial shrub in the olive family (Oleaceae). It is native to Tibet and central China. The specific epithet, nudiflorum, means “naked flowering” and highlights the fact that the flowers appear before the leaves. Winter jasmine prefers full sun to partial shade.
