Now in paint, on the top left select>>File Tab>>save as>> and then save it as jpg or png. do it for all your jpeg files. JPEG files are more compressed and slightly lower quality than jpg or png files with a 10:1 compression ratio and the file sizes are smaller.

Dec 30, 2018 · As per reply to Charlie, have realised it is GoPro jpg files that won't open. other jpg files from camera or iphone do open fine. (sorry, thought I had checked this ). I tried your suggestion and then restarted laptop but no change, still cannot open the GoPro files - displays the message 'it appears that we don't support this file format' .

Dec 31, 2018 · Click start - Settings - Updates and Security - Windows Updates - Let’s see if there are any pending updates that can be installed. If so, install those first. Reboot, and try again. If no dice, reset the photo app - click start, settings, apps, then look for photos. Click on it, advanced, terminate and then reset.
