- Seek Truth in Scripture. Scripture, or the Bible, is God’s Word. God knows you need somewhere to go when you feel unsure. That place is His Word. It is unchanging and completely trustworthy.
- Confess Unbelief. Be honest. Allow God to remind you who He is and what He promises, and then be honest with Him. You can tell God how you feel and in what areas of your life you are struggling to trust Him.
- Share Your Concerns With Your Community. You are not facing these difficult times alone. The Lord is walking with you every step of the way. He also gives you other believers to walk with.
- Remember God and Spend Time With Him. God is bigger than your circumstances. Difficult times may feel like they last forever, but they are temporary. God is present amid the bad times as well as the good.
- To Trust Is to Place Your Confidence Only in God. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) To trust in the Lord means more than believing in who he is and what he says; the word here for trust can also mean “to have confidence in.”
- To Trust Is to Acknowledge God in Everything. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:6) Acknowledging God means knowing God wherever we are and whatever we are doing.
- To Trust Is to Fear the Lord. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. (Proverbs 3:7) Putting trust in the wisdom of man, looking to ourselves—both individually and corporately—is futile in the extreme.
- To Trust Is to Receive Life from Christ. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. (Proverbs 3:8) Trust in and fearful awe of the Lord revives.
- Develop a Habit of Prayer. Prayer is a powerful means of communication with God. It allows us to pour out our hearts, express our concerns, and seek His guidance.
- Study and Reflect on God’s Word. The Bible is a source of divine wisdom and guidance. It contains stories of God’s faithfulness and promises for His people.
- Cultivate a Heart of Gratitude. Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have. When we acknowledge and appreciate God’s blessings in our lives, we build trust in His providence.
- Surrender Control to God. One of the greatest challenges to trusting God is our desire for control. However, recognizing that God is all-knowing and all-powerful enables us to surrender our plans and desires to Him.

Mar 24, 2015 · We trust God because he is God. He is holy and awesome and righteous in every way. We can trust God because we don’t serve a God who is only sovereign and wise. He is also infinitely loving. God’s love is incomprehensible. We can’t fathom its depths, and when we try to compare our love to God’s, we fall awfully short.
