Open WhatsApp on your iPhone primary phone. Go to WhatsApp Settings > Linked Devices > Link a Device. Unlock your iPhone if you’re on iOS 14 or above: Use Touch ID or Face ID to unlock. If you don’t have biometric authentication enabled, you’ll be prompted to enter the PIN you use to unlock your phone.
Linked devices provide a reliable, secure way to access WhatsApp from any of your devices. You can stay connected by linking up to four devices at a time to your primary phone. You’ll still need your primary phone to register your WhatsApp account and link new devices.
You can link a device using your primary account phone number and a one-time code. Up to four linked devices can be linked without the need to keep your primary phone connected. You'll need to log in to your primary phone every 14 days to keep linked devices connected to your WhatsApp account.
It can take a few minutes for your message history to appear on linked devices depending on the number of messages in your chats. Note: Not all messages and chats are synced to linked devices from your phone. WhatsApp Desktop syncs more message history than WhatsApp Web.
To disconnect linked devices such as WhatsApp Web, WhatsApp Desktop, companion phones, or tablets, you can log out from WhatsApp on your primary phone, or from WhatsApp on the linked device.
Linked devices may not have all the features found on WhatsApp for your phone, but here are some of the features available in beta: Read chats and reply using voice or text. Mute a chat.
Link an Android tablet to your phone. Open WhatsApp on your Android tablet. Open WhatsApp on your phone. Android: Tap > Linked devices. iPhone: Go to WhatsApp Settings > Linked Devices. Scan the QR code on your Android tablet screen to capture the code.
Check your linked devices regularly. Go to WhatsApp Settings > Linked Devices to review all devices linked to your account. To log out of a linked device, tap the device > Log Out. We’ll also automatically disconnect linked devices after 30 days of inactivity.
Android primary phone: Tap > Linked devices > Link a device. iPhone primary phone: Go to WhatsApp Settings > Linked Devices > Link a Device. Unlock your primary phone. If your device has biometric authentication, follow the on-screen instructions.
iPhone: Go to WhatsApp Settings. Tap Linked Devices. Tap a device > Log Out. Repeat these steps for all linked devices.
