- Throughout his career, Hendrix experimented with a variety of amps, but his most well-known and commonly used amp was the Marshall JTM45/100. This classic amp defined his tone and helped establish the iconic “Hendrix sound.” In addition to the Marshall JTM45/100, Hendrix used several other amps, including Fender models and the Vox amps.

Sep 12, 2024 · The amps were seen during the show at Fillmore East on February 1, 1968, on the 2nd at Winterland Ballroom, San Francisco, and lastly at Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim on February 9, 1968. According to some sources, the amps were supplied by Fender for Jimi to use during the 1968 US tour.
Before hitting the amps themselves, Hendrix ran his Stratocaster through (in this order) a Vox Wah pedal, a Dallas-Arbiter Fuzzface, a Uni-Vibe pedal, which then sent a split signal out to the two Marshall amps.
