    • Five Quick Ways to Teach Kids About Saving Water. If clearing the dinner table is on their chore list, make sure they skip the rinse and put dishes directly in the dishwasher.
    • Take a Field Trip to Your Local Aquarium. Combine education with a chance to visit your children’s favourite sea creatures. Most aquariums incorporate water conservation programs for kids so they can develop an understand of the environment around them.
    • Get Kids to Become Leak Detectives. You probably already taught your children to turn off faucets after each use, but sometimes that won’t stop water waste.
    • Show Them How to Re-Use Water. If your children have pet fish, try this the next time they clean out the fish tank: Encourage them to recycle their pet’s waste water by using it as nutrient-rich hydration for non-edible household plants.
    • Teach children where their water comes from. Depending on where you live, you may get your water from the ground (aquifers), from surface water (rivers), or maybe even from rainwater collection (like rural areas or the island of Bermuda).

    • Go camping. Beyond the fun of the great outdoors, fresh air, and starry skies, camping is a great way to demonstrate just how little water you really need to use.
