Most YouTube videos are 10 minute low budget things made by 1 person of unknown quality, not full blown million dollar TV shows that are almost guanranteed to be worth the wait. When those 10 minutes of YouTube are then interrupted by 30 second ads every 3 minutes, it becomes absolutely unbearable.
Unskippable ads can only be a maximum of 30 seconds (In the process of being shortened to 20 seconds). What happens is an ad blocker or another extension (seems to happen a lot with ABP) unblocks the ad but still blocks the skip button (in the case of ABP it appears to happen when a user trys to whitelist the site or a channel).
Feb 6, 2022 · The second ads were all 5 seconds. 25 seconds worth of ads, 7 ad break breaks, nearly 3 minutes total just in adverts. Couldn't skip ANY of them. This is an average of 4 minutes between adverts. THIS is why people use AdBlockers. Just sucks you can't use an AdBlocker on the console YouTube app.
