Feb 18, 2018 · On my keyboard the 4 key shows a dollar sign ($) and a rupee sign (which I don't know how to type). Ctrl+Alt+4 gives me ¤. On key 5 it shows % and €. When I do Ctrl+Alt+5 gives me € which is shown on the keyboard. However Ctrl+Alt+4 gives me ¤ when it shows a rupee sign on the keyboard. You can probably find it in Character Map.

File tab > Options command > Save option. Turn on "Embed Fonts in the file". There appears to be an option to set this as default for all new documents.

When testing in Microsoft 365 Excel we can insert Indian Rupee symbol on Win 11 device, it displays fine. We assume the situation may be related to different devices or Excel shows different behavior on different Windows operation system.

It has been stated that one has to apply the Hotfix/ Update and then type 20B9 followed by Alt-X. This will make Rupee Font visible in the document int he same font, i.e. Times New Roman, Arial etc.
