Read Write Inc. Speed Sounds. Speed Sounds Set 1. We learn the sounds in this order: m - a - s - d - t - i - n - p - g - o - c - k - u - b - f - e - l - h - sh - r - j - v - y - w - th - z - ch - qu - x - ng – nk. Stretchy Sounds. The following sounds should all be stretched slightly. Try to avoid saying uh after each one.:
Read Write Inc. introduces the simple Speed Sounds (one sound, one grapheme) with Speed Sounds Set 1 and Set 2. They then learn more ways of writing the same sounds with the complex Speed Sounds Set 3. Children are taught letter names before moving on to Speed Sounds Set 3.
Read Write Inc - Sounds. These are the sounds that children learn in RWI. They first learn set 1, then set 2 and finally set 3. Once they have learnt a sound they practise reading and writing it in words. To help the children learn the sounds there is a little saying next to it.
