    Who is it for?

    Lactating mothers and pregnant women having their first child are not covered under any paid maternity scheme. The target for this scheme is women from marginal communities who do not receive any benefits which are provided by private institutions, public sector undertakings (PSU), or state or central government employee benefits.

    What is the benefit?

    The eligible mother will get INR 5000, paid in three installments. The payment is divided into INR 1000, INR 2000, and INR 2000, respectively. Each installment is disbursed only when the conditions for the scheme are met at each stage.
