Jul 26, 2020 · Up in the top left, there are two buttons, Share and Open. Both have a drop down arrow. For Open, I used to click the drop down arrow and I would see "Open in File Explorer" or something like that. When I clicked it, it opened the folder with the file location in Windows 10 File Explorer. It is now gone.
It just re-opens in the Dropbox preview. We tried: • logging out and deleting all Dropbox Cookies. • in Settings -> Apps, disconnected the Microsoft Office Online integration. • In Settings -> Apps, set all apps to "View on Dropbox.com", reloaded the settings page, then set them back to "Open in [App] for web".
Aug 6, 2018 · Also, the option you linked to talks about Dropbox as a place in Office Online. That's not what we're asking about. The specific feature we're asking about is shown in the screenshot above. Previewing a supported Office file and clicking the Open button would give you the option to open the file in your local copy of Office.
Feb 27, 2020 · My question is after I click Microsoft Word it will open file for me but I want "Open in Desktop App" option as red circle in my attached screen. Jan 20, 2020 · 1) Is it possible to send a link to a shared dropbox file but have it directly open in Windows? E.g. click on dropbox link to user/dropbox/word.docx and it opens up in Microsoft Word directly? 2) Or have it open the folder in Windows (which can be easily opened directly in Word) as opposed to the web version of dropbox.

Jun 2, 2023 · I've tried logging into my Microsoft account, reloading Word Online, and trying again. I even tried recreating the entire document when signed in to my Microsoft account. I've tried creating the document in another subfolder of the shared folder. I've tried different formats, including ODT, DOCX and DOC.
