If there’s an old British film or sitcom in your DVD or Blu-ray collection, there is a good chance it was released by Network.
Jun 9, 2023 · On May 31 st 2023 news broke online that Network Distributing, the company that had been releasing classic British television and films on DVD, Blu-ray (and initially VHS) across the last 25 years, appeared to have suddenly ceased trading following the disappearance of their website. In subsequent days we learned that the company had gone into liquidation, bringing an unexpected halt to their operations – and the equally unexpected and far more tragic dismissal of their entire staff.
May 31, 2023 · Sad news, although most of the stuff I was interested in was purchased years ago, i.e. virtually the entire back catalogue of ITC filmed series, the Merton Park shorts and Edgar Wallace series, many British B movies etc. At least I have the DVD's, imagine if Network had been a streaming service.
Jun 8, 2023 · I’m not surprised. Hardly anyone remembers it! But among those of us that do there was great sadness last week on hearing that the kings of rare TV, Network Distributing, had entered liquidation. For those not in the know, Network Distributing were licensed to release hundreds of rare, cult and classic television shows on DVD and Blu-ray.

Jun 26, 2023 · Introduction Like many, I was shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Tim Beddows in November last year. In 1997 Tim founded Network, the distribution company, which, among other accomplishments, has rescued, restored, and revived more than 3,000 British film and television releases.
