The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences which is initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.
Eligibility Criteria for KVPY: KVPY was an entrance mode to IISERs but was discontinued last year. Hence, you can get admission to IISERs through only two streams. From 2024 onwards, there won’t be any admission through KVPY. The seats that were allotted for KVPY will now be allotted to IAT since the JEE Advanced is also not accepted by IISERs
