- Traditional GTA Vibe. Ever feel like today’s Grand Theft Auto just doesn’t feel like Grand Theft Auto? It may sound crazy, but GTA V, even with all of its supped up cars, outrageous cut scenes and dynamic combat systems, just doesn’t live up to what we want from a GTA game (some demanding bastards, aren’t we?).
- Learning Curve. It would be an understatement in saying that Grand Theft Auto V, in terms of difficulty, has been drastically watered down from its predecessors.
- Story. The story of Grand Theft Auto IV is one that has a majority of long term fans straddling the fence. It’s long and drawn-out and, with a cousin like Roman stalking you every chance he can get, it’s hard for the casual player to fully engage with what's going on.
- Environmental Interactions. A lesser known feature unique to Grand Theft Auto IV is its unique interactions with the world around you. Unlike GTA V, there are far more things to engage with when just walking down the street.
I like a bunch of aspects of GTA IV better, such as the darker story and more immersive city, but overall I find GTA V handles so much better as a game, which makes it far more fun to play for me than GTA IV, which just feels clunky in comparison.

Jan 2, 2023 · GTA 5 is a little bit better to play than GTA 4 was, but the gap between the stories is more significant, and that is the deciding factor in GTA 4's favor. If a player considers what game GTA 6 can learn from, GTA 4 has more to offer in terms of making the game interesting.
