Nov 25, 2023 · I'm trying to install Firefox Browser Developer Edition (.tar.bz2 file). I've followed a guide and it works, just doesn't seem to operate as a browser (or an app), it doesn't have a logo (default cog thingy) I can't favorite it in the task bar and it doesn't come up in the list when trying to choose a default browser either. would love some help fixing it or reinstalling it in a different way, thanks!
Nov 20, 2017 · It gets uninstalled but if I re-install Firefox (not developer edition) then it switches to Firefox developer edition. How do I ONLY uninstall Firefox developer but keep the bookmarks, URL etc. saved for the retro Mozilla Firefox browser. I don't want to loose any data while shifting from Firefox developer edition to the Mozilla Firefox browser.
Jul 13, 2022 · This will install the files in /opt/firefox. If you want a different folder, e.g. firefox-devedition then you can instead extract the files locally, and move/rename the extracted directory firefox: tar xvf FirefoxSetup.tar.bz2 sudo mv firefox /opt/firefox-devedition

Nov 25, 2014 · since my own installation of firefox developer edition did not show up in my list of installed programs, I got rid of firefox developer edition by manually doing common sense backtracking its installation via deleting it via > downloads > next > programs > etc... then finally a "delete" wizard installation box! ...lastly, do a pc restart. tom ...

I want to use Firefox Developer Edition separated from the normal Firefox so I need two short cuts for the launcher, one for the regular Firefox and another one for Firefox Developer Edition. I am following the guide posted here , being a complete newbie, just moving the firefox folder to /opt/firefox_dev/ was a challenge, now I've managed to get to here:

Does anyone know how to install the traditional Firefox? In a perfect world, I'd like to have both so I could still contribute and not need to worry about the bugs when I'm at work.
