Aug 14, 2023 · Options. 08-14-2023 01:51 PM. The EOS Utility does not provide a way to read Shutter Count. Unlike Nikon, Canon does not save the Shutter Count in the EXIF data of every photo. The bottom line is this. The most reliable way to get an accurate Shutter Count is to send the body to Canon for a cleaning service, and have them read the count for you.
Jan 14, 2024 · gphoto2 does not report shutter count for EOS R5. I have no use for shutter count other than curiosity and would not buy a program to get shutter count. File number does not increment is the same name space when tethered using EOS Utility and saving to computer hard disk. This results in a discrepancy between shutter count number and file number.
Oct 20, 2018 · You get the app Shuttercount, open it, plug this cable into your phone, then the USB cable into this cable and attach your camera and turn it on. The Model, ser#, Owners name, Shutter Count (4425), and Shutter Wear, mine was 4%. So far this is the best way I have found, yes I stressed finding out what it was, but I just wanted to know.

It leads to the inevitable questions of when was the count measured, and how much has it been used since the count was measured. Of course, the next question is how was the count measured. And, that is when the useless back and forth begins to wear on you.
Jun 28, 2022 · Take a photo. Use the button with the blue arrow on it to view the image. When that is displayed you should see one of the screens in the image below. If the shutter count (as indicated by the red arrow on the diagram) does not show, then press the Info button (see image below) on the back of the camera until it does.

Waiting to receive my used 7Dii. If the Shutter Count is low-to-average then I will keep it. Otherwise, if it is higher than I expect, then I will have to sell it on.
