Gmail has moved all your selected emails to "Trash." To remove your emails permanently, in Gmail's left sidebar, click "Trash."

If your unread spam emails are on multiple pages, then at the top of your email list, choose "Select All Conversations That Match This Search."

To now delete all your unread spam emails, at the top of the email list, click "Delete" (a trash can icon).

Your emails are now deleted. To remove them permanently, click "Trash" in Gmail's left sidebar and choose "Empty Trash Now" on the right.

And that's all there is to clearing your Gmail account of unread emails.
