    • Southwark Brewing Company. Thirty years in the making and one of the oldest pioneer breweries in London,Southwark Brewing Company is one of the most popular taprooms on the Bermondsey Beer mile.
    • Kanpai – Bermondsey Craft Sake Brewery. A little taste of Japan in the heart of Bermondsey, Kanpai (‘cheers’ in Japanese) London Sake Brewery taproom has recently relocated from its original brewery in Peckham to the Bermondsey Beer Mile – maybe they should rename it the Sake Square Mile?!
    • The London Beer Factory – Barrel Project. A serious contender for the best looking taproom on the Bermondsey Beer Mile, with their incredible beer-barrel interior (and their beer selection is pretty epic too).
    • Hawkes Cidery & Taproom (Closed Down) February 2024 update: Hawkes Cidery & Taproom permanently closed in November 2023. And now for something a little different on the Bermondsey Beer Mile – cider!

    • Southwark Brewing Company. Start the odyssey at Southwark Brewing Company – a craft brewery that largely focuses on cask ales. It’s very different to the crisp beers and lagers that pop up along the beer mile and a nice way to get going with something that really stands out.
    • The Barrel Project. You’ll want to hit up The Barrel Project next. Experimental beers are brewed in a barrel-lined railway arch, with the company’s fruity efforts topping the vast selection.
    • Hawkes Cidery & Taproom. Cider? In the beer mile? It’s true. Hawkes Cidery opened their taproom a couple of years ago and it’s been pulling in the crowds ever since.
    • Billy Franks Craft Beer & Snack Shack. What started out as a tiny shop to grab bar snacks has transformed into one of the best places to drink on the Bermondsey Mile.
  3. Smith’s New Map of London 1860. This guide introduces you to a selection of the many points of interest in the Bermondsey Street area. The walk starts and finishes on Bermondsey Street at the junction with St Thomas St. It takes about 1-1.5 hours.
