Jun 1, 2019 · Pressing the button takes you to the store, where it tells you that WhatsApp is already installed and offers the option to 'Launch', and round it goes again. I've tried updating via the 'Downloads and updates' link in the store, but that tells me that everything is up to date. I've tried removing and reinstalling the app, with the same result.
The only way I can get it to launch is by going to task manager and finding whatsapp in the background processes, and then selecting it and clicking end task. After this, double-clicking the whatsapp shortcut launches whatsapp. Issue resolved with the App update with 2.2043.22.0.
Mar 3, 2024 · Press WIndows+ R, type shell:appsfolder nad press enter. On the Apps folder, right-click Whatsapp > Create shortcut. It will ask to create the shortcut on the desktop, select yes. On the desktop, rename the Whatsapp - shortcut to Whatsapp to ease the next steps. If you want you can place the shortcut on another folder.
