Jul 1, 2023 · University of Manchester vs University of Edinburgh. daddy33. 1. So I am international student from Ukraine, I was offered a places in UoM and UoE for civil engineer courses in both, and I can't really pick one or another. Edinburgh is surely cool and beautiful place to be, but Manchester have huge new engineering building, while Edinburgh have ...
9. Manchester has a better reputation and generally harder courses than MMU, the courses are usually run seperatly but i've found alot of the extra-curricular activities are run together, the universities are all along the same road basically. but asking the difference between them is like asking the difference between oxford and oxford brookes.
OhNO! 16. Manchester are trying very hard to push up their reputation at the moment, and that means they're being a lot choosier about who they're giving offers to. It's a really competitive course, anyway - 70 places for 1400 applicants.
Manchester is a city university so they are very different (as others have already said). As for the nightlife, personally I don't think the nightlife in Leam and Cov is as bad as people suggest. Yes, it's clearly not going to be good as a big city, but, there are a selection of places to choose from and I think it's enough for a student to live with.
4) Kent. 5) Westminster. I think I'll be predicted: AAC/ABB/ABC. I really, really want to go to Manchester, it's felt like my soul city always, its sad because I don't know what to do, my portfolio I'm starting now and I have always been fascinated with architecture since a young age.

If you're particularly sporty, there are three sports centres, two on the main campus and one in Fallowfield.

I seem to be magnetically attracted to Manchester and the university even though I've never actual been to the city let alone start my A levels, it seems like such a great university with a large range of courses (almost all of which are reputable), a decent national and even better international reputation, culturally diverse, an awesome place to have fun, I could go on FOREVER-but...
Manchester is big, multicultural, there's lots going on and fantastic nightlife. Stockton is, by all accounts, a bit grim. Both universities have an excellent reputation. Durham tends to be seen as slightly better than Manchester within the UK, but Manchester has an even better reputation internationally.
