Because a TRUNCATE is DDL it involves two commits, one before and one after the statement execution. Truncate can therefore not be rolled back, and a failure in the truncate process will have issued a commit anyway. However, see Flashback below.

May 28, 2009 · DATETRUNC is a built-in as of SQL Server 2022. If your SQL Server version supports it use that. If your SQL Server is older you can use this implementation which mirrors the the functionality of the built-in and works for any datepart from year to second. (Notably it does not support iso_week, millisecond, and microsecond dateparts.)
Login to PHPMYADMIN and click the table you want to truncate. Then go to SQL tab Place your code to truncate the table in the SQL Editor example truncate table students; Replace students with the name of the table. Prior to SQLite version 3.6.5, the truncate optimization also meant that the sqlite3_changes() and sqlite3_total_changes() interfaces and the count_changes pragma will not actually return the number of deleted rows. That problem has been fixed as of version 3.6.5."

When the WHERE is omitted from a DELETE statement and the table being deleted has no triggers, SQLite uses an optimization to erase the entire table content without having to visit each row of the table individually. This "truncate" optimization makes the delete run much faster.
