Feb 12, 2022 · It's not the latest technology. It's not the best technology. It's not the most popular technology. It is, however, an interesting well made, accurate, cool bit of technology. The watch the OP shows is older and might be in need of a new capacitor/battery which is why it's cheap. For $130 it's probably a good bargain.

Dec 4, 2023 · Kinetic movements still exist. This is the Knot Watches SAC-40S dive watch that was released about 18-24 months ago. The Kinetic movements are made by EPSON these days (designation PX82 to PX85) and even includes a kinetic GMT movement. As you may know, Epson is under the Seiko umbrella of companies.
Jan 4, 2023 · The 6R35 and the watches that it powers goes up directly against Swatch Group's Powermatic 80, which is ETA 2824 based. However, PM80 movements usually run near COSC specifications and the watches range anywhere from $400-1000+, which covers a range that overlaps with Seiko's 4R3x and 6R35 watches.

I have owned Swiss COSC, Miyota 9000 series, multiple Seiko low-beat (7S26, NH35/4R35), and Orient low-beat (F6922). 20 years ago, I tend to wear single watch for several month. So accuracy was more important for me. But now, I tend to switch watches every week, so accuracy is not as important.

Aug 31, 2020 · The Seiko 4004 line used 2 movements (the Seiko 0903 movement and the Seiko 4622 movement). Both were made to be dissembled and cleaned and oiled like a mechanical watch (with the exception of the coil and circuit board). It was also made to be adjusted so that it was more accurate. These watches had a rate trimmer.

Seiko Watches (Including Kinetic, Kinetic Perpetual, Quartz and Solar) +/-15 seconds per month Seiko Perpetual Calendar watches +/- 20 seconds per year .
Feb 27, 2015 · Seiko - 6138-800x (Baby Panda) The 6138-8000 is another very rare and hard to find mechanical chronograph which is called "Baby Panda" due to its similarity to the 6138-8020 "Panda" model. The two subdials are smaller and this lets the watch appear as the small sister of the Panda.
