Change your password in webmail and then wait at least an hour (the important bit) to give the servers chance to sync passwords. Then try configuring Thunderbird again with the new password. And yes I have tried adding it manually in Outlook which provides an advanced options button which opens up a more detailed form to enter the details. In fact all the server options are already entered correctly though it does provide spaces to enter the email address & password for the outgoing server.

I am a long time user of Outlook and have never had problems before in setting up my bt email account. This time though, I have tried a number of times and despite my email address and password being correct, I get a pop up saying 'Something went wrong.

Jan 19, 2024 · Go to solution. Hiya, I'm having issues logging back into my BT email using Outlook on my Samsung Android mobile phone. All was working fine until BT told me i had an issue that needing fixing. As a result I changed my password. This now works on Webmail, my company IPad and on my PC, however my phone is having a proper "computer says no" moment.
Oct 5, 2023 · I am really sorry but I am not following the detail of this. I am a @btinternet email user. I use Office 365 with Outlook on a Mac and the Outlook app on an iPhone. I have added BT email as an account on both Mac and iPhone. Email all works as it should. For my calendar, on the Mac, I do not see an option to toggle on the @btinternet account.
Jun 4, 2024 · As of this morning my "new Outlook" on Windows 10 PC is no longer receiving emails in a timely fashion and cannot send emails at all - they are stuck in the Drafts area. Web-based email continues to work. Android-based email continues to work fine. The problem appears to be in the (lack of) communication between New Outlook (Outlook 365) and BT ...
Nov 24, 2022 · Re: New laptop Windows 11 -Cannot link btinternet.com email to Outlook. Try 587 & TLS and tick the SPA check box for the outgoing server. It's not settings you've no doubt seen on the BT help page but TLS, although a tad slower, is more secure than SSL. 0 Ratings.
Dec 3, 2023 · Navigating to the Outlook Connection Status dialogue box the btinternet account is in permanent state of "disconnecting" . Other accounts linked to Outlook (ionos) send email fine. There is something not visible with the BT end that is causing the grief. It seems a long standing problem going back at least 8-years.
